Did you know that there are 6 different words for GOLD in Ancient Hebrew? Most translations utilize just two English words, GOLD and FINE-GOLD. The Ancient Roots Translinear Bible (ARTB) utilizes six English words: GOLD, FINE-GOLD, GOLD-ORE, FILIGREE, FINE-GOLD, and the unusual word 24-CARAT. The word 24-CARAT is utilized for the Hebrew word TAHOR (Strong's 2889) which is the gold used for the objects in the Holy of Holies.
Most of the time, this verse is translated "Create in me a clean heart O God" (KJV). That's because the word TAHOR is also used to designate CLEAN vs. UNCLEAN animals. And we certainly need a heart that's clean.
But the use of the word 24-CARAT shows that our hearts should not only be purified gold, but also beautifully fashioned to be articles of worthy service before God's throne.
