We’ve been robbed. Ransacked. Your favorite bible is missing a significant number of ancient words.
Your favorite bible is missing a significant number of ancient words. Not just a few words, not just ten or twenty words. Hundreds and hundreds of words are missing from the ancient language. Over 700! How can this be?
It has taken a scientist to step in and look a little closer and point out the obvious. Trained not as a biblical translator, but as a database scientist, A. Frances Werner painstakingly examined the Old Testament of several bestselling bible versions over a five year period. The results are in: All bestselling bibles analyzed are missing between 700-1200 words.
“The Old Testament manuscripts contain a total of 6300 unique Hebrew/Aramaic words, excluding proper names. The typical bestselling bible is utilizing a much smaller vocabulary, in the neighborhood of 5600 unique English words. They generally reuse the same English words for DIFFERENT Hebrew words. That’s the exact opposite of what I would have expected,” said Werner.Werner again pointed out that some of these 800 original words have minor usage. For example, there are seven different words about “lions” in the ancient language. Most bestselling versions only use four English words. But some aren’t so minor. “One word missing from all modern translations is the word ‘oasis’. Can you imagine a desert culture without the word? The concept is clearly there in the original languages. It turns out that the word is key to understanding Hebrew writings about the temple.”
Werner continued, “What are those missing words? It’s time for a bible that restores what’s been ‘robbed’. That’s why I’ve crafted the Ancient Roots Translinear Bible.” It’s called “translinear” because it painstakingly matches one unique English word for each unique Hebrew word. The methodology is under review by the US Patent Office.
The website, www.ancientroots.com, details the surprising statistics comparing the new version to all bestselling bibles. Copies of the Ancient Roots Translinear Bible are available at the website or Amazon.com for those who want to know what they’ve been missing. The New Testament is expected to be released in 2008.
